Woman shot in East Oakland, suspect still at large

OAKLAND — A woman was injured in a shooting in East Oakland on Sunday, while driving near Eastmont Town Center.

When the victim approached the intersection of 62nd Avenue and Hayes Street in a car at around 11:55 a.m., she and the car were struck by gunfire, Oakland police said.

The victim was able to stop the car, and someone in the neighborhood drove her to the hospital. The victim’s condition was not known Sunday afternoon.

Police are investigating the crime. No one has been taken into custody.
