Jacob Garibaldi will face attempted vehicle burglary and vehicle tampering charges, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responded shortly before 11 a.m. to the 800 block of 3rd Avenue in Half Moon Bay after a witness called to report someone was trying to break into a car.

When deputies arrived, they quickly spotted the man matching the witness’ description. He later was identified as Garibaldi, the sheriff’s office said.

Investigators then discovered Garibaldi had attempted to break into several vehicles in the area, the sheriff’s office said. Deputies didn’t immediately return calls to say whether any of the other attempts had been successful.

Deputies booked Garibaldi into the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City.
