Pooja Batra and Nawab Shah are enjoying marital bliss after a hush-hush wedding in Delhi. The couple tied the knot according to Arya Samaj rituals on July 4, in the presence of close family and friends. Chronicling their journey, Nawab and Pooja have shared several adorable clicks on Instagram. And last night, stepping out for a dinner party with friends, Pooja and Nawab were snapped with Rajiv Rai, Pooja’s friend from LA, actor Pinky and Shabbir Boxwala. Pooja looked adorable in a black dress and flaunted her red chooras.
Post the nuptials, Nawab opened up about their wedding in an interview with Bombay Times and said, “When I reconnected with her, a relationship wasn’t on my mind. However, at this stage in life, you feel the void of not having a companion. Pooja Batra entered my life like sunshine and I was sure that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. In fact, I wanted to marry her right after our first meeting.”
While Pooja revealed how everyone would question her for delaying her wedding with Nawab. She said, “Our loved ones kept asking us why we were delaying it (the marriage). I was simply going with the flow, but then I realised that he is the man I want to spend the rest of my life with, and there is no point in delaying it any further. So, here we are. We had an Arya Samaj wedding, and we will register our marriage this week.”
On the work front, Pooja was last seen in psychological thriller Mirror Game (2017). While, Nawab will share the frame with Arjun Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt in period drama Panipat. He plays the role of Dakhani Muslim general Ibrahim Khan Gardi, who commanded a force of 10,000 men, infantry and artillery in the third battle of Panipat which took place in 1761. Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, Panipat is scheduled to hit the screens on December 6. Nawab also has a part in Salman Khan starrer Dabangg 3, which is set for release on December 20.
