Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shivlekh Singh, Vin Rana – a look at TV’s newsmakers of the week

We had all sorts of news from the world of television this week. The most surprising one was the report of Kareena Kapoor Khan being paid a whopping Rs 3 crore per episode of Dance India Dance. On a sad and grim note, we heard of the unfortunate demise of Shivlekh Singh, who worked on shows like Sasural Simar Ka. Here is a look at the week’s news in short.

Shivlekh Singh

In a sad turn of events, child actor Shivlekh Singh lost his life while traveling in Raipur. It seems the car in which he was traveling collided with the rear of a truck and he instantly died on the spot. His mom is critical while father and driver are badly injured. Shivlekh was popular for his role on the show, Sasural Simar Ka. PTI reported about the accident and stated that efforts were on to track the driver of the vehicle. Shivlekh Singh’s had their ancestral home there. He lived in Mumbai with his parents.

Vin Rana

Fans were liking Vin Rana’s menacing act as the evil spirit Kapil on the show but it has come to an abrupt end. Due to a change in story-line, the makers have reportedly ended his role in the show. Vin used to play Kapil on the show who wants to destroy Sandhya’s life by possessing her. He is also a part of the hit show, Kumkum Bhagya.

Karan Patel

The hunk who has been playing Raman Bhalla in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein for almost six years is now going to be a part of Khatron Ke Khiladi or Bigg Boss 13’s upcoming season. Reports are doing the rounds that Karan Patel would be replaced by Chaitanya Choudhary. The actor confirmed the same to an entertainment portal. Choudhary is yet to confirm his entry in YHM.

Kareena Kapoor Khan

The actress made news when reports came out that she is being paid Rs three crore per episode of Dance India Dance. While she refused to comment on the exact figures, she earlier told PTI, “The pay package has to be a good amount because you put in a lot of hard work on TV. If a male judge is getting so much, a female judge can also.It is the first time ever that any mainstream actress has forayed into TV, a dance reality show, at this point in her career. I’ve got what I completely deserve and for the hours that I will put in.”
