Fairfield police asking for public’s help in locating SUV involved in hit-and-run

FAIRFIELD — Police in Fairfield are asking for the public’s help in locating a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run collision that left a bicyclist in critical condition on Thursday.

On Thursday at 11:45 p.m., a 58-year-old Fairfield resident was riding her bike on Sunset Avenue near Daniel Street when she was hit by a red 2003 Saturn Vue SUV with California license plate 5CGA081.

Police said the SUV ran over the bicyclist and drove away.

The bicyclist broke several bones and was transported to the hospital. She was listed in critical but stable condition Friday night.
