SAN FRANCISCO — Drivers were advised to avoid San Francisco’s MacArthur Tunnel on Sunday afternoon after a car fire blocked traffic and caused delays.
The right southbound lane was closed as of 1:30 p.m. Sunday, while the left southbound lane and both northbound lanes were open, according to CHP, which recommended drivers continue using alternate routes.
The fire was reported at about 12:20 p.m. When CHP officers arrived, the car was fully engulfed and all lanes of traffic were blocked. CHP reported the northbound lanes re-opened at 12:52 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
